Religious Education
At St John’s we aim to enable pupils to know about and understand Christianity as a living faith that influences the lives of people worldwide and as the religion that has most shaped British culture and heritage. In addition, we want our pupils to know and understand about other major world religions and world views, their impact on society, culture and the wider world, enabling pupils to express ideas and insights. Pupils are given a safe space to critically reflect on their own religious, spiritual, and/or philosophical convictions.
The RE curriculum at St John's is based on the Blackburn Diocesan Board of Education Syllabus and adapted to meet the needs of our children and our particular context.
