Safeguarding and Child Protection
Parents should be aware that the school will take any reasonable action to ensure the safety of pupils. Where the school is concerned that a child may be the subject of ill-treatment, neglect or other forms of abuse; staff must follow Oldham Child Protection Procedures and report their concerns to Oldham Social Services Department.
The Governing Body takes seriously its responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children; and to work together with other agencies to ensure that adequate arrangements exist within our school to identify, assess, and support those children who are suffering harm. Our children have the right to protection – regardless of age, gender, race, culture or disability.
There are five main elements to our Child Protection Policy September 2022
To ensure we practise safe recruitment in checking the suitability of staff and volunteers to work with children.
To raise awareness of child protection issues and equip children with the skills needed to keep them safe.
To develop and implement procedures for identifying and reporting cases, or suspected cases of abuse.
To support pupils who have been abused in accordance with his/her child protection plan.
To establish and maintain a safe environment in which children can learn and develop.
A variety of safeguarding policies can be found in the policy section of our website.
