British Values

At John's, British Values are an important part of everyday life and are woven through our curriculum and daily routines. We promote democracy by giving pupils a voice through class discussions, Picture News, school councils, and voting opportunities. The rule of law is reinforced through clear expectations, shared rules, and an understanding of fairness and responsibility. Individual liberty is encouraged by supporting children to make choices, express their views, and develop confidence in a safe and supportive environment. We foster mutual respect and tolerance by celebrating diversity, teaching kindness, and learning about different cultures, faiths, and traditions. These values are embedded across subjects, assemblies, collective worship, and daily interactions, helping children to grow into respectful, responsible citizens.
