A MESSAGE FROM SIMON BUXTON-MOORE, HEADTEACHER
St John’s CE Primary School is a vibrant and happy place to learn. In 2018, our school community joined the Sola Fide Multi Academy Trust to mark the next phase of our development in collaboration with Partnership Schools and St Chad’s Teaching School. As a partner school in the Trust, St John’s contributes and innovates as much as it is supported and we enjoy the challenge of moving forward together to achieve the very best for all our children.
Here at St John’s, we pride ourselves on high standards of behaviour and academic challenge. We are committed to teamworking with our wonderful families and have a real focus on public and Christian service, which is line with the core values and mission of the Sola Fide Trust.
Our School Motto is “Living, Loving, Learning; Together in God’s World” and the message from scripture that we live by in school is:
“Let all that you do be done in love” (1 Corinthians 14:16)
Through the teaching of Christ we work together to share our love of living and learning and through this message, we are a fully inclusive school which aims at all times to be fully appreciative of difference. We are both brave and mindful in our thoughts and actions and all that we say and do we aim to be said and done in love.
Our core values are: Love, Hope and Respect. Through a structured, vibrant and bespoke Worship Programme here at St John’s, the children explore these core values making links with the natural world, with figureheads of history, current affairs and popular culture, all linked back and referenced to the life of Jesus in Scripture and the work of St John’s Church with whom we enjoy very close links and partnership.
We hope that you will find our website useful, helpful, inclusive and informative. We welcome prospective families of all backgrounds, faiths and cultures on personalised visits to the school and enjoy the richness and mutuality that diversity brings to our happy school.
Thank you for taking the time to drop into the website.
Mr Buxton-Moore – Headteacher.
A MESSAGE FROM PETER BURNLEY CEO/EXECUTIVE HEADTEACHER, SOLA FIDE C OF E TRUST
Ask me why St John’s C.E. Primary School is such a special, successful school and I will tell you that it is due to the fact that the children are placed at the centre of all we do, they always come first.
We want the children in our school to be happy, safe, confident, enjoy learning and achieve their full potential.
Everyone, not just the children, see themselves as part of an effective learning community that works hard to achieve excellence – no one settles for second best.
When people join the school they become part of one big family, enjoying the real sense of community which that brings. Working together for the good of all, we form a formidable team.
Everyone at St. John’s sees themselves as a learner, keen to develop and enhance their talents, skills and abilities. No one ever stops learning here and each person is valued for their unique contribution.
We aim to develop independent, thoughtful, considerate, resilient community members, who reflect on what they do and take responsibility for their actions.
Finally, there is a genuine willingness to share what we have with others because we believe that when we give freely, we receive more in return.
